A sample of the rules inside
Every rule is a single, concrete instruction someone can follow on day one — written by people who know how this work actually goes wrong.
Register & cash handling
- Count your drawer at shift start and end, and sign for it — discrepancies over the threshold get reported to the manager immediately, never 'fixed' quietly.
- Cash over the drawer limit gets dropped to the safe; drops are logged and witnessed where possible.
- Refunds and exchanges follow the posted policy exactly; anything outside it (no receipt, past the window, damaged) goes to a manager.
- Only published discounts and authorized codes — never manual price changes without manager approval.

Sales floor & customers
- Acknowledge every customer within 30 seconds of them entering your area — a greeting is also the best theft deterrent.
- Walk customers to the product, don't point; if we don't have it, offer the closest alternative or order it.
- Face and front shelves during quiet periods; tags and prices match the system — flag mismatches, don't guess.
- Suspected theft: never accuse or chase; give attentive customer service and alert the manager with a description.

Stockroom & deliveries
- Check deliveries against the packing slip before signing; count cartons and note damage on the receipt.
- Process new stock the day it arrives: security tags where used, priced, and on the floor or in its assigned bin.
- Rotate stock — newest to the back, oldest sells first; pull short-dated or damaged items and log them.
- Heavy boxes low, use the step stool (not shelves) for high items, and keep aisles and fire exits clear.
